EMS is the acronym for Electrical Muscle Stimulation. This specialty training is delivered through a device that is worn, stimulating your muscles through tiny electrodes that accelerate your workout.

The EMS suit provides full-body EMS training, stimulating all the major muscle groups at the same time, helping you to achieve a fit and toned look. By training with our state of the art technology, you can achieve the same results of a 90-minute workout in only 20 minutes!

Benefits of EMS training include:

  • Save time! No Xcuse!
  • Burn up to 1200 calories in a single session;
  • Build muscle strength and endurance;
  • Reduce cellulite due to lymphatic drainage effect; and
  • Gentle on Joints.

HOW DOES EMS TRAINING WORK?

During traditional strength training, the brain sends impulses that stimulate certain muscles to contract. Not all muscles have a well-developed connection to the brain.

EMS Training stimulates all of the body’s major muscles and helps develop the motoric nerve connections relating to muscle movement. By sending electric impulses directly to these nerves, even the weakest muscles are activated. Because all of the major muscle groups are activated during a single session rather than in a conventional workout, a more intense level of training is enabled from the start.

The intensity of EMS training creates more muscle fibre at an accelerated rate. This results in more active muscle tissue that requires more energy intake, which boosts your metabolism, triggering an afterburn effect which means your body burns more calories, even at rest for up to 48 hours after a single EMS session!

FAQ

Here are some commonly asked questions that you may have answered below:

Why is EMS training more effective?

The EMS full-body workout activates over 90% of the muscle fibres simultaneously during each contraction. This grants an advantage over conventional strength training as deeper muscles are also being used and targeted.

Because EMS activates the muscles fibres in a non-regular order, an intense level of training is enabled right from the start. This creates more muscle fibres at an accelerated rate. Therefore, EMS training allows for a much more rapid effect with visible results sooner, in less time!

How long does it take to see results?

Some of our clients have seen noticeable results as early as two weeks.

The results are impressive and are usually visible after ten regular training sessions coupled with a nutritional diet.

For the most efficient results, it is necessary to consume appropriate nutrients and it is really important to construct your diet with the right amounts of fat, vitamins, carbohydrates and proteins.

What does it feel like?

Our clients describe it as a gentle vibration while feeling your muscles contracting with each pulse. The level of intensity is up to you and what feels comfortable. your certified trainer can increase the strength of each pulse, or if you’d prefer a gentler session, your trainer can alter the pulse quality at any time.

Does it hurt?

Even though there is an electrical current involved with the EMS system it is very low impulse and completely safe, gentle and will not cause you any pain or discomfort as you exercise.

How often can I train?

2×20 Minutes per week is all you need to start seeing results. Some clients chose to do 3×20 sessions per week which are the maximum sessions per week allowed as you must allow your muscles time to recover.

Can I get electrocuted?

The chance of an electric shock is absolutely zero.

Our machines use the most up-to-date scientific results in the background. These methods are also used in medical applications; the electrical muscle stimulators play an important role in the area of rehabilitation. Our Machines are in fact safer than some Hospital Devices.

Is it safe?

EMS technology uses electrical currents to stimulate the muscles and it has been widely used in physiotherapy for decades with great results. Our device has been tested vigorously and meets Australian and worldwide safety standards. It has also won many internationally recognised awards.

Who can use EMS?

The EMS system is designed for any age from 18+ and body type  – from the young sportsperson through to older people looking for help with mobility and fitness.

What do I need to do before a session?

Make sure you’re well-hydrated throughout the day of your EMS training and ensure your last meal was eaten 2-3 hours before your session, so you have sufficient energy for your workout.

Arrive 10 minutes before your booking time to allow time to change and get ready. We would recommend you do not do any other training on the day of your EMS workout.

Can I train while pregnant?

We do not recommend training whilst pregnant. Most women can safely train with us as early as 4 weeks after birth. We do however recommend speaking to your doctor first.

How soon can I train after a C Section?

We recommend you consult with your doctor prior to training with EMS after a C Section. If your doctor clears you to exercises around this is usually around the 6-8 week postpartum mark.

What is EMS training?

Electrical Muscular Stimulation (EMS) Training works with electric impulses, which are similar to the body’s natural stimulus transductions. An EMS device encourages your body to enter a high metabolic state, helping you to tone and sculpt your body, even at rest. With EMS stubborn areas around your waist, hips and thighs are targeted. As the device works your muscles, you’ll notice improved muscle strength, endurance and fat loss. Now, at EMS Fit Body you only need to train for 2×20 minutes a week to see visible results.
